Tranmere Rovers v Southend Utd Match Discussion
By Deadly Submarine
November 14 2008
For those who are unable to go to the game against Southend United at Prenton Park on Saturday, here is your platform for discussing the events of the afternoon as the match goes on, as well as any other League One games that may affect Rovers in the League.
At Total Tranmere, we always like to take note of feedback from the users of the site and respond to it in the best way we can. One thing we have picked up on more recently is that after Tranmere games there seem to be a lot of different threads that get started about the same game.
As a result of this feedback, from now on we will be providing Match Discussion Threads for every occasion when Tranmere play.Tranmere are of course playing at home to Southend United tomorrow in Coca-Cola League One so if you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses. Or why not post the line-ups or anything else you can think of.
You could also use this thread to discuss other League One games too as Rovers look to get back to winning ways after the defeat at MK Dons two weeks ago.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

The best game ive seen at Prenton Park for a long time and the boys played fantasticly well and deserved the win that they didnt get.
However, today pointed out how much we need a goalscorer, if we had somebody who will put the ball in the net week in week out we would be in the top 3 because we create so many chances and don't finish them.
But all that aside, we where brillaint and couldnt fault anybody!
Coyne 6: didnt have much to do
Shotton 7: supported shuker well down the flanks and didnt look as vulnerble going the other way this week
Chorley 7: average by this seasons standards but needs to think about his passing sometimes
Goodison 8: costly error at the back but never phased the man is a genius!
Creswell 9: Abolsoloutly superb, fantastic performance should not be dropped for the return of taylor!
Shuker 8: Fanatastic again, all i need to say.
Jenno 7: Got himself about well but a stupid red card!
Kay 6: The only player in a white shirt who let me down a little today but still gave 100% and cant ask more than that
Moore 7: Did well and took his goal really impressively
Savage 7: ran the line well again and like moore took his goal brillaintly
Greenacre 7: out of position but played really well
Overall i have nothing really to complain about really pleasing performance and i am optimistic about our chances again.

Jenno and Moore were very good for me, Moore MOTM, whilst Cresswell was brilliant again. His set-pieces are brilliant. First-half his free-kick was genious, the second-half one pure inspiration. Delighted Ronnie has shown confidence in him to play him, and he's earnt his place.
The team passed the ball round brilliantly today and we actually tried to carve them open rather than just pumping it up the park and hoping for the best.
Shuker was excellent again and providing the end product we need out on the wing, Ian Moore took his goal v.well and Savage's goal today was reminisent of Calvin Zola's at the end of last season against Yeovil who ironically were playing next week
With Jenno, Kay and Goodison arguably our three most influential players missing next week, what type of formation and starting line up is Ronnie going to put out?
Personally i would put Antwi in with Chorley at the back with Edds being drafted back into the side along with Charlie Barnett in centre midfield in a 4-5-1 formation.
A great game indeed and the second best I've seen this season it was brilliant bar the defending obviously!

If it wasn't for him we would of scored at least 5 goals. He was superb.
However a MOTM from our team would be either Jennings or Moore who were both outstanding.

With Shotton, Kay, Goodison, Jennings, Georgie and possibly Andy Taylor all missing next week, the 4-5-1 could see the likes of Paul Henry, Danny Holmes, Godwin Antwi and Aaron Cresswell all starting, which would be interesting to say the least
Although he hasn't been playingtoo well, hopefully Taylor will be OK to give us an extra option at the back as well as Holmes, Cresswell, Chorley and Waterfall.
I think we might see Taylor play centre back, something alone the lines of...
Coyne
Holmes Chorley Taylor Cresswell
Shuker Edds Barnett Moore
Greenacre Savage

Shotton- 7
Chorley- 8
Goody- 5
Cresswell - 8
Ian Moore- 8 * MAN OF THE MATCH
