Tranmere Rovers v Peterborough Utd Match Thread

For those who are unable to go to the home game against Peterborough United tonight, here is your platform for discussing all the events of the afternoon as well as the build up to it pre-match and any other interesting scorelines in the FA Cup tonight.

Peterborough Utd Match Discussion Thread

At Total Tranmere, we always like to take note of feedback from the users of the site and respond to it in the best way we can.  One thing we have picked up on more recently is that after Tranmere games there seem to be a lot of different threads that get started about the same game.

As a result of this feedback, from now on we will be providing Match Discussion Threads for every occasion when Tranmere play.

Tranmere are of course playing at home to Peterborough United tonight in an FA Cup second round replay for the chance to meet West Brom of the Premiership in the third round so if you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on and even discuss the team news and build up to the game beforehand too?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.  Or why not post the line-ups or anything else you can think of.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores in the FA Cup tonight as well.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

So dissapointing sad smiley They were the better team and had the better chances, but we concentrated and defended well until the 94th minute.

Our midfield and striker(s) were poor, especially Edds and Sonko and Coyne kept us in it at times.

Just 30 seconds away from West Brom...

In the end we were beaten by the better side and annoying as it was, their 94th minute equaliser was fully deserved.

There are plenty of ifs ands buts. If Gornell hadn't missed that chance at their place the other week there wouldn't have been a replay. If Shuker had scored when one on one instead of taking it round the keeper just before they equalised it was game over.

At the end of the day I didn't think we played all that bad as a team but Savage had a frustrating game and Goodison annoyed by hoofing clear even when there was no need to do so.

Great header by Kay who had a decent game I thought and Antwi was good defensively although as Matt pointed out his distribution of the ball wasn't great.

My Man of the Match would be Danny Coyne who kept us in the game especially in the second half.

The only plus point of this result is that Colchester Away will now be on a Saturday not a Tuesday.

It's a shame that certain fans let us down again tonight as well apparently.

Antwi's heading ability is absolutely shocking. 50p head or what

We were terrible, but if we'd only only played 4 minutes instead of 5 and a half we would of won.

We were neve the better team and struggled to pass the ball around. No one looked like they could create anyuthing and Kay needs to learn that "the super 60 yard ball" isn't always the best one to play.

Savage was extremely lazy, but when he did put the effort in for the little 30 seconds here and there he looked dangerous.

Peterborough were very good though - they certainly break extremely quick.

Their strike force is, I would say the most dangerous in League One with Mackail-Smith and McLean although I thought the number 10 George Boyd was their Man of the Match - he was immense!
