Tranmere Announce Eight New Youth Scholars

Tranmere Rovers have today announced eight new first year scholars who will join up with those who are moving into the second year to form both Tranmere's Youth and Reserve team for the 2010/11 season.......

Following the release of the second year scholars earlier this month, Tranmere Rovers have today announced which eight players they will be taking on as first year scholars for the 2010/11 season.

Cole Stockton, Jon Conchie, Will Vaulks, John Courtney, Steven Wainwright, Jake Kirby, Ellis Healing and Ellis Appleton join the club on two-year deals, having spent time as youth team players at Prenton Park.

The eight will all play for the club's U-18 and reserve teams over the next two years, as well as picking up several qualifications, including an NVQ in Achieving Excellence in Sporting Performance.

The youngsters join Max Power, Dale Jennings, David McNamara, Jay Gibbs, Andy Coughlin, Liam Benson and Conor Roberts who will be second year scholars at the club next year.

A fair few players there who've already had reserve team experience there. Hopefully some future stars...

Great news for these lads!

Ive seen Vaulks play for the Reserves a few times last season and he seemed decent enough!

I look forward to seeing him and the rest for the Reserves and Youth next season.

any chance you could do the youth profiles again - I normally check how the YT are doing but apart from the odd one mentioned don't normally know who any of them are?

Mike, we'll do the youth profiles after pre-season, so we can get a chance to assess all the new scholars as well as the new second years (Sm160)

If we can get the info ourselves we will yeah!

We will obviously update it getting rid of those who've left or moved to pro level!

the lad is called JOE Conchie not jon mate ive seen him play once for the reserves on the left but when i seen him for the youth team he played down the middle looks a decent prospect as does the goalkeeper john courtney an will vaulks.
