Weather Report
A fairly warm day at Prenton Park and the rain also held off for most of the match which was an added bonus for those who sit at the bottom of the Paddock and Kop.
Crowd
4,847 fans were inside Prenton Park for this game which is down significantly on the opening game of the season but also saw a much lower visiting support than that brought by Oldham a fortnight ago.
Referee Watch
Carl Boyeson - Early on in the game the referee seemed happy to let the game flow but a spate of booking in the later stages of the first half continued in the second although choosing to talk to Joss Labadie after he had already been booked rather than send him off was a plus point at least from Tranmere's point of view.
Best Moment
The opening ten minutes saw Rovers play some great football and dominate the game so that was a good point but aside from that the final whistle brought our misery to an end and was the best moment.
Worst Moment
The goal that caught us on the break dropped the heads of the Rovers players and the penalty that followed was the killer blow from which the somewhat fortunate visitors never looked back.
Funniest Moment
Hard to find one in such a poor game but Nick Wood trying to stare out the Bournemouth keeper on a free-kick with his back to play was something worth laughing about albeit briefly.
Tranmere Man of the Match
Ian Goodison - On a day when everyone in the side was poor, Ian Goodison was the best of a bad bunch at the back alongside Nick Wood who really struggled this afternoon.
Connections
Although there have been past player links between the Clubs, there were no current connections in either side's squad.
Rovers Fans
There didn't seem to be a great deal of noise on the whole inside Prenton Park but once the goals went in for the visitors in the first half there was little to really get excited about.

Summary
Entertainment Value
A very drab game from a Rovers point of view and the last fifteen minutes or so were probably the worst part of it. Much improvement is needed especially at home.

Bournemouth took advantage of their early luck today but deserved to win in the end. However it could have been so different - unfortunately for us it wasn't.

we took advantage of b'mouth taking their foot off the gas. Huge gulf in class
What that says about us and our consistency I don't know but if they are up there at the end of the season I will be very surprised.
Although as a footnote we were so poor we ay have made them look better than they were.
I could be wrong given their result at home last week.
the goals were gifts and we just didn't test them enough!

Our gate today was down and reflects the on-going decline since P.J decided to run the club on fresh air.Our problem is not living beyond our means but living too far below our means.
With a reasonable team we should consistently be able to generate 6-7000 gates.Many clubs in the lower levels can be competiive in terms of squad acquisition on such gates.
The key question is where will it end
-PJ shows no sign of asking a realistic price for the club so a buyer looks unlikely
-He certainly does not look like putting money into the club so core support will continue to decline
- One is left to conclude that in due coursehave run the operation down he will sell off all the assets, ending the club as a viable concern
There was a bad odour coming out of the club after he left for Everton and the smell gets worse over time

We looked weak before the season and results have only reflected the fact.
This is not pessimism (I wish it was)but we are a club that is in planned decline.The strategy of our chairman is steadily squeezing the lifeblood out of the club. I feel sorry for parry for he faces a .
situation that any manager would find almost impossible
Discussions about the match are almost a distraction from the real issue which is just what are the plans of our chairman for his intention appears to run the club down.There is no plan, no vision.and no evidence that he cares beyond protecting his own 'loan'. Criticising Parry is to miss the real culprit
Les is workign with a budget which means trying ot get the right qualitiy and experience is damned hard. It annoys me that he can't pay Trundle £2,000 a week, or even Macken £1,500 a week.
Some People call the 11 against Bornemouth, the same inept 11. The same 11 that won a League Cup match and nailed a good point against huddersfield.
I suppose therefore Holloway should be criticised for naming the same inept 11 against Arsenal too. I think his selction was exactly the same anyway.
Les Parry is capable of managing the team, but until he gts finances even half way decent he will struggle.
Though I would like to see one change and I think it should be Blanchard for Wood. Blanchard has a reasonable handful of games and a little more age.
