did the subs weeken us that much ? 2 points thrown away really at home to a side we should have beaten! should have but this year it's a strange league and so tight you just never know

Unbelievable. Even Walsall had admitted to defeat. The game was done and dusted.

Again we fall apart without goodison. He was injured so had to go off, but why take off Moore and Jennings? Could understand it if it was 4-1

After taking a deep breath thoughts from today.

Some good attacking football but left open in midfield, didn't take the chances but good attacking display.

Thought warner and right back look very good signings.

Yes defensively poor and lacked composure at the end yes dropped deep but getting men behind the ball and trying to tighten the game up was what we needed.

BUT thought a majority of our fans were very poor, getting on teams back when the players needed them as we tried to grind out an important win. Jeering and creating tension for the players in the last 8 minutes of a game.

Put yourself in the players shoes there trying hard to hang on and battle a result out and they've got their own fans on their back having a go at their every touch.

Warner (commanding display and with games could well end up being one of the divisions best keepers imo)
Kay (great in the tackle and very impressive debut)
Cresswell (good again great freekick, don't expect him to be at the club next season though....)
Goodison (usual!)
Taylor (good display in his best position)
Welsh (some good work maybe tired later on and gaps in midfield appeared)
Labadie (getting forward a lot and good effort, sometimes caught wrong side of ball when we were being attacked and like welsh seemed to tire late on and give lots of space in midfield)
Jenno (good enough display and at just 18 some fans need to remember he is young and the type of player he is some things will come off others won't. Could do with a goal to get confidence back up!)
Alliyu (good again great finish sometimes bit too much dribbling but like Jenno he needs to be given the license to try his luck as he has that quality to pull something out the bag)
ITM (struggled to get into the game, was knocked off it easily and usual trademark work rate didn't seem to be there today. Still a big player for the team though)
Enoch (another in need of a goal, not in great form and struggled to hold the ball up which we needed him to do today.)

Subs (don't see a problem, Jenno looked a bit weary, ITM was out the game and goodi injured.)

Les/Summerfield (will no doubt take critisicm but un founded in my opinion, maybe 4-5-1 might have tightened us up at the end but how would some of our 'fans' take to that?? Were trying to get team to push out but to no avail. On this occasion players lacked the calm heads needed to close it out (not helped by the fans).

we blew a two goal lead against the worst team in the league and you dont think the management our to blame?

Once goodison went off injured we were all over the place at the back, taylor for me had a poor game enoch missed another one on one when he should have scored.

we were lucky to be ahead at half time as we were fairly poor then for a good spell in the 2nd half we tore them apart and they looked gone we played some good football, taking off dale gave them a boost as well as goodison. I didnt think dale looked jaded at all.

Agree that warner & kay played well.

I am gutted. I felt we had to win today and to be 3-1 up against bottom of the league with 5 minutes to go and draw is a disgrace. Don't know where we go from here, really tough games coming up and morale will be low.

Disappointing to throw 3 points away but on a positive note, I thought Kay was excellent.

Kay was but it's only a short term deal. We should get him for the rest of the season if we can........................

Warner did as well as I'd hoped.

I think Tranmere created some issues for themselves, but Walsall didn't deserve the point. The best they deserved was a 3-2 scoreline and to get that goal within seconds of the whistle is a mickey take and they can count themselves lucky.

They did enough however to please their new incumbent, though Tranmere had to play them, without any prior evidence of how they would play with a new manager, so they may have been a potentially pretty different beast to the last two times.

As it transpires Walsall may remain weak or improve a bit on todays evidence, but they won't become a solid outfit capable of 3-4 straight wins in a row.

For Tranmere, good for the Elford goal and Cresser netting by way of another free kick, so 4 this season if memory serves correct. Just a shame he couldn't help the team win because of it, as that's now 3 points he's helped the team to get, from dead balls and a cup goal.

The players needed to be a bit more match sharp at the end. You can't drift off a bit for a second in this game, or you might get punished, so that's something 5that needs addressing, because it's not simply a case of whether Goodison and Jennings remained, it's also a case of whether the remaining players could all stay focused on the task in hand, because it might be easy to do what seems like just enough, when you're 2 goals to the good and have literally minutes to spare, but it isn't.

Sometimes it might be a few issues with Les regards decisions, but sometimes some players need to accept some blame for failing. Today was such a day I think.

In future, players need to remain focused on the task in hand for the full duration, not long enough to create an acceptable scoreline, then potentially coast and drift a bit.

Feel sorry for you guys to lose two points in the dying minutes,

if you'd of faced as a week before the game would of been yours for the taking,

couldn't make it, but was it a fairly even game or..?

never ceases to amaze me to see how 'suppoters' so quickly turn on the club and players they 'SUPPORT'

agony if you were at the game maybe you could understand the supporters frustration and anger at the result and performance

It means it was a poor performance a game we shoule easily have won but havent done becaause of the managers tactics and the players not performing well.

I thought we were pretty awful today. They were there for the taking and we could have easily won. I saw today after the first 15 minutes as an opportunity to improve our goal difference and move away from the bottom. Instead we blew a comfortable 2 goal lead and left me feeling so angry at the end.

Were in a relegation battle, fighting for our lives and we caved that easy, it was absolutely discraceful. They were the worst team I have seen this season and we are so much better than that, it was so disapointing.

Where does the fault lie? Well, the injury to Goodison didn't help but why take off Moore and Jennings? There were players far more tired than them on the pitch and that would have helped us if they'd have been taken off.

Words failed me today, they really did. I just can't understand how we went from 3-1 up to draw 3-3. It was bitterly dissapointing.

Walsall were there worst team at pp yet this season. Their confidence very low and they were arguing with each other from the start of the game. Not trying to slag thewalsall fan off by saying that - don't mind Walsall at all small team in a big city with other big teams.

On reflection we actually played some good football and thought the Geordie lad kay was best right back this season ie he could tackle and control the ball and after all that actually pass it to a tranmere player. We have two quality left backs and at least we have finally got a right back for a month. Well done kay keep it up!!

Bit disappointed again with playing to deep in defence like we did against Carlisle last week when we were 1-0 up pumping the ball up the field time and time again only for Carlisle to pull one back and then we switched on again and ITM scored the winner and the again 3-1 up then nearly got the forth when Akins I think it was and then the plug was turned off and we sat back so far back we were nearly in the Cowshed pumping balls up the field to who? every one was back
defending and the ball came back time after time if we were 3-1 in the cup playing Man U or Liverpool or even Brighton/Southampton/Charlton in the league backs to the wall hard defending ect but this was not these teams this was Wallsall who have not scored three all season and in the last four games have let in ten goals. I know Goody was pulled off but if Ian goes down their is something wrong
he does not go down for the sake of it and it is better to replace him because we need him but who ever replaces him on the pitch it up to the team as a whole to dig in and hold on to the lead and push up why ITM was pulled I could under stand Jenno going off I think his legs had gone but I would have put on Fraughan with his legs he might pushed up not knocking McGurk he is more a player of the likes of ITM.
But if we can not hold on to the lead playing the likes of Wallsall what chance have we got out of the next four games by the time we are playing Rochdale at home on the first of Feb we could be well and truely entrenched in the bottom four . Sometimes I think Les loses the plot how can he turn Prenton Park(opps Liverpol just gone down 1-0 pen first min)back into a fortress with some of his tatics I think it`s going to be a long and hard rest of the season and we do not want it to go to the last match of the season to save us not when were playing Swindon Town (Swindle Town)we do not have sometimes good memories playing that lot of all the teams to push us into the drop it would be them so come Les have a rethink sometimes and attack when we can we need points on board now onwards and upwards

so the supporters are justified getting at the team when we're WINNING 3-1 having created many more chances and with 10 minutes left???????????

Some supporters forget the meaning of what support is sometimes.

I think it's the sort of people that can't always rationalise decisions, or come here and claim Brighton have a Tranmere style budget, so why can't Les be doing what Poyet is? That was a classic "can't think it through" type of comment.

Sometiems people have a justifiable right to be cheesed off. I'm not happy the players to some extent switched off and let Walsall steal the win in the dying moments. 3-2 was the best their team deserved frankly.

Ironic that that's the second time Macken scored against Tranmere, a plaer reportedly not being offered his £1,500 a week wage by Les, because Tranemre couldn't afford it.

It cna be difficult sometimes to decipher where fault with a manager stops and fault with players starts or vice versa. Sometimes it's one the other or both, but some people do need to engage the logical aspects of their Brain a little more sometimes, so they don't sometimes make, what looks like unsupportive comments or criticism of Tranmere Rovers, that look misguided or unjustified.

I went yesterday, and think that:

Walsall were truly awful and will go down

Enoch was sheer comedy! that one on one he just wet his pants.

the players are unaware as to where their team mates are
every time we got the ball we either ran with it the wrong way, passed it to where no one was or hoofed it up the field

there were three moves involving more than 3 passes in the whole 90 minutes!!!!!!!!!

Kay was very good in the tackle and combined well with midfield

in the last 25-30 minutes we just stepped back, we capitulated and said "come and get us". no one wanted to tackle any more, or press. it was so frustrating, and players only started doing it again with the crowd on their back

i sensed a lot of laziness today from dale, and from labadie. Not closing down, just taking 30 seconds to get up while the ball is still in play. no pressure.

some one needs to give them all a kick up the backside

sadly, i found these players to be better (potentially) and more entertaining (potentially) than moore's teams over the last couple of seasons, but was appalled byt rh total lack of a plan, cohesion or thought

I don't think they're that good but potentially our first 11 could achieve a top half finish but half the time they can't be bothered.

Completely disagree you can say the players are rubbish, they make mistakes, they lack consistency but at no point since Les has taken charge can any of them be accused of lack of effort.

What about yesterday when for the last half hour they gave up? We were brilliant after HT, last half an hour though we just gave up.

We stopped playing, we never closed down, we lost our shape, our determination, our will to win the game disapeared because we were to complacent - they thought the game was won and it wasn't.

If we'd of showed the same fight and determination we had against Rochdale and Carlisle, or continued to play the good football we'd be doing at the beginning of the second half we'd have won.

Walsall didn't get a point yesterday because they were good, they were abysmal. They walked away with a point because we stopped playing and entering each tackle with that extra 10%. Walsall still wanted to take something from the game whilst we thought 3-1 up meant 3 points.

We basically did what Dagenham did against us in August, we thought the game was won and gave up. The game doesn't end till the final whistle.

they were big mistakes to throw the game away but I refuse to accept that the lads were not trying. I think they got nervous I think they lacked composure but it wasn't that they were not trying.

I said to my friend that we had stopped playing,we seemed to think that we had won,but once we went defensive we lost the advantage,if we were going to defend I would have brought Blanchard into the midfield in a 4-5-1,because one of the things Max does best in midfield is break up attacks,but you have to give Walsall credit,they never gave up,they deserved a point for that reason,we stopped playing,we were too complacent when we were ahead,not for the first time this season,but the blame for me is on the manager & the players,Enoch was shocking,he should have been taken off,he did nothing,the one-on--one he missed was shocking!!I wasn't impressed with Warner,he looked shaky at times which may have been lack of games,I think Collister should be no.1 next season,he was great the games he played,& Kay if we could get him for the rest of the season is a given,but we need to stop relying on Goodison to keep us in games
