Vote for Your Striker in Our Team of the Decade (2000's)

As our series of polls continues, we are asking you to vote for your favourite striker of the last decade to join the other nine players already in our Team of the Decade (2000's)........
Last week, Gary Jones became the ninth player to be voted into our Tranmere Rovers Team of the Decade (2000’s), as he joined Iain Hume, Jason Koumas and Nick Henry in the four-man midfield.
This week, as we continue our search, we ask you to vote for Tranmere's best striker of the past ten years, a position in which Tranmere have had a number of decent players in the past decade and which could possibly be one of the tightest vote so far.
You have seven days to vote for your favourite striker out of the candidates remaining from last week, with the winner taking a spot in the team alongside the other nine Rovers legends currently in the side.
After this vote has concluded, the remaining six losing candidates will form the following week’s poll with the winner of that poll then taking the final playing spot in our Team of the Decade.
The candidates for strikers are as follows...
Wayne Allison
A Rovers player for three seasons in total at the start of the decade, ‘Chief’ as he is most commonly known was a member of the Rovers squad when they reached Wembley in 2000 but was unable to play in the League Cup Final having already played for Huddersfield Town before moving to Prenton Park in September 1999.
Great in the air and since having returned as a coach under Les Parry last season, Allison was a popular player with the Prenton Park crowd.
Stuart Barlow
Another player who spent three seasons at Prenton Park, this time between 2000 and 2003, Barlow will perhaps be best remembered for his winning goal in the 3-0 down, 4-3 win over Southampton in the FA Cup in 2001.
Barlow also memorably netted two hat-tricks in the space of three days against Notts County and Wrexham in consecutive league matches as Rovers won 4-2 and 5-0 respectively.
Eugene Dadi
Eugene Dadi formed part of the Rovers front line between August 2003 and August 2005 after signing on a free from Livingston.
Often playing alongside Iain Hume, one of Dadi’s most memorable goals came in a 2-1 FA Cup replay win over Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium in which both players scored the goals. Sadly Dadi left at the start of the 2005/06 season to join Nottingham Forest.
Chris Greenacre
Greenacre spent four seasons at Prenton Park and was a popular player. Although not a reflection of his performances for the Club in any way, Rovers just survived relegation in his first season at the Club but he was prolific enough in all of his seasons to get well in double figures for goals scored.
Blighted by injury late in his Rovers career, he left in summer 2009 to play football in New Zealand for Wellington Phoenix.
Simon Haworth
Another striker with a three year spell at the club although for Haworth, it was an horrific broken leg sustained away at Brentford that put an end not only to his time with Tranmere but to his playing career.
Prior to injury, Howarth netted 31 goals in 77 league starts and was a decent goalscorer for the Club. Sadly no-one will ever know how much better he could have become in a Rovers shirt.
Ian (Thomas) Moore
Originally a Tranmere trainee player and first-teamer between 1994 and 1997, Ian returned to Tranmere under the management of his father Ronnie in January 2008 and spent three years at the club before by now sacked Ronnie Moore signed his son again for Rotherham this January.
Always a hard working and commited player, Moore will be remembered for a number of brilliant finishes including Scunthorpe away in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and at Aldershot in the FA Cup as well as several home games.
Paul Rideout
Rideout may only have spent two years at Tranmere at the start of the decade but he will forever be remembered for his hat-trick in the comeback game against Southampton in the FA Cup.
As well as that game, Rideout also scored a few crucial goals including in a 1-0 home win over Peterborough United on a dull Tuesday night in the league.
Who, then, will be Tranmere's best striker in our team of the decade? You can decide by voting between now and Sunday 27th March when the votes will be counted and the winner announced and a feature story published on www.total-tranmere.co.uk.

Chief was always a favourite of mine but hard to choose between Dadi and Greenacre also.

Great guy, great player, (although he did once throw a pie at me!)
ITM - no doubting commitment and quality
Greenacre - had his heart in the club as well
Howarth - left Wigan form,us and in his own words "could not resist chance of joining a bigger club" ha ha ha ha
but for sheer memories got to be the Chief. I have a wardrobe that could jump higher than him but what a presence on the pitch
!
