I hope he delivers, I remember him saying before Christmas very positivley relegation is not an option. I fear we have one year to get back or we could be finished, reality is it will take longer unless alot of money is spent on a manager and team who are so much better than the other conference sides or the end could be nigh :-(

I have total trust in Palios.

In more than 65 years of watching Rovers my greatest fear was never relegalation but the fact that it would end the financial viability of the club. If this had happened any time in the last decade it would have been curtains.

We are were we are because of the total absence of any strategic plan since we lost championship status. That we have a future and therefore hope, is entirely down to the fact that we have leadership capable of along term plan.

It takes away none of the pain but it does reduce the sense of despair. Watching yesterdays game felt like time had caught up on all those years of neglect.

Tomorrow is another day and we hace the resources and fanbase to both challenge in the future and to prosper

Absolutely no sympathy Palios. Now you will realise how difficult it is getting out of the conference. Suspect Tranmere never voted for 3 or4up and down at the league conference. Only when L2 teams get relegated are they confronted witht the reality. Get ready for the long haul. We have been trying for 4 years. Hopefully you will see us this season taking your place....welcome to the real world.

I hope we did vote to keep it 2 up/down. The football league is a separate entity. There would be no real distinction between league and conference with 3 or 4 up/down. Being part of the 92 league clubs wouldn't have any special kudos attached. If its hard to achieve then so be it, it makes getting there more special.

I wouldn't dislike that to happen but I'd prefer Bristol Rovers to be out of the equation for next season.

Exactly. A youth team sponsor, comedy nights, new sponsors like Brewers, Everton friendlies for a cut of the money. All down to people like Palios and Broadbent, not Horton, Hughes and Johnson.

I think Tranmere could have been a bit more competitive in all those season in league 1, even with just an additional £250,000 a year for wages from increased cash flow, not expecting increased cash flow to come only if you play Wolves or Palace in the FA cup 3rd round, or Huddersfield in the latter stages of the JPT, or Bolton in round 2 of the League cup.

not happy with palios, he needs to start delivering now, he took his eye off the ball and was more interested in what was going on off the pitch when his priority should have been what was happening on the pitch, he should have stepped in 10 games ago and removed adams instead he played his fiddle whilst rome burnt, we could have got out of this but he was to stubborn to admit his mistake and remove the manager he appointed, he now needs to appoint a good solid experienced manager and back him with cash

In Palios we trust. Time to look forward, he has stated he will stand by the club and his determination to have us back in the league so time for the fans to start supporting the board through what will be very difficult times.
Don't think next season will be easy, I'm sure Grimsby, Wrexham, Cheltenham, Torquay fans will also believe that they will be promoted next season (given that Bristol win the playoffs).
Hopefully MP will act quicker if it starts to go horribly wrong next season.

I trust him completely. We are lucky to have a chairman who has the business acumen together with an in-depth knowledge of the game. Again, hindsight is a wonderful thing and in the circumstances that we find ourselves in, I'm sure that Mark may have made a management change perhaps 10 games ago. Thats all hypothetical now and what is done is done. What we all need to do is to get behind the club and show the board our utmost support and solidarity to do what we can to get our proud club back into the league. It's too easy to wallow in self-pity about what has happened to our beloved Rovers. One thing we can certainly do is to continue to attend as many games as we can and bring a friend to increase the gates for next season. After all, the Conference is not where we should be, but it is still a professional league with a good playing standard. The fight-back starts now.

Perfect ownership to get back up. Spot on what they did before the game and you could see the emotion in Mark's eyes. They are the only bright thing of this season and i am proud to have them leading our club. Big 8-12 weeks now to get the club where they need to be come August. We will be back!

His priority is every aspect of the club and as many people keep slagging off most of the players, that they call rubbish players who seemingly don't care about the club, what would a new manager have done trying to turn around results for 2.5 months, with the same so-called bunch of lazy, gutless, couldn't care less players anyway, plus a loan player or two of their own, one of whom might have still ended up being George Green.

One minute people criticise the players to kingdom come, then want the manager to go, but didn't ask themselves, what a new manager would have done to change a squad they could have little impact on, in terms of new personnel and working with personnel being accused by some of being useless and not fit to wear a Tranmere shirt.

If Palios resigned himself to survival, as opposed to 50 points by month X, then mid table security, then Adams was still offering him the possibility of survival, even when just outside the danger zone by the thinnest of margins, so therefore he could have seen no reason to act.

Also if the players were, in some peoples minds, so unworthy of wearing the shirt, then why would they have thought a new manager would make any difference anyway, as the so-called gutless, useless players, would have not bothered for the new guy who bar a loan player or two, couldn't have shipped in a load of new guys with supposedly an attitude, many thought a lot of the current players lacked.

Cheltenham acted before Tranmere, employing a track record manager and nothing changed. You could argue Tranmere could have done the same thing with someone else getting 10-12 games in charge and still going down.

The only possible thing that might seem logical now was getting rid of Adams and giving people like Koumas and Shuker the job, who at least had worked with the players and knew them, plus there would have been a lot of managers not enamoured with the prospect of league two management, if it meant performing a salvage job on a declining club, that was struggling to overcome past issues, with some burgeoning financial sustainability encouraged by the new ownership, because if you go down and lose your job, you're a manager who failed at a league 2 club, so unlike failing at a league 1 club, it would be harder to get another job at a league club.

In my mind Palios has done nothing except do his best to encourage better financial stability and give the manager enough funding to do his job.
