Wolves face another of the pretenders to Man City's title hopes tonight at Molineux, hoping for an upturn in their fortunes.
Nuno Espirito Santo faces a tough challenge this evening, hoping for at least a point against high-flying Chelsea, to stop the recent run of poor results and the disappointing losses to Huddersfield and Cardiff. Wolves have lost their last three games at home, and will be desperate for something for the home fans to cheer this evening, especially as star player Ruben Neves will be missing due to suspension having picked up his fifth yellow card of the season at Cardiff. This will mean at least one further change to the team line-up, with many fans wondering whether Leander Dendoncker will finally get a look in, although it seems more likely that Romain Saiss will join Joao Moutinho in midfiled with Ryan Bennett returning to the defence.

So... Morgan Gibbs-White gets his first start, possibly playing in the No.10 role to drop back into midfield as necessary. Saiss steps in to cover Neves' absence and Bennett returns to the defence.
As demanded by many fans Dendoncker reappears - even if only to the bench. Kortney Hause also makes a bench appearance.
Chelsea have made several changes to their team with notably the largely out of favour Christensen in defence. However Willian and Hazard are both in attack, which will surely make our defence shiver!!!

Loftus Cheek's shot is deflected in off Coady as he tries to block it with his head. Shame as Wolves had been shaping quite well. Jota had a good run after being set up by a MGW but never got in a position to get a shot off.
Fabregas just gets to the ball before MGW after a superb cross by Vinagre. Saiss booked for 2nd time in two matches after a tripping Willian.
Great defensive play by Bennet as Hazard puts Willian through on goal. Fans love it!!
Half time reached with Wolves conceding one goal. Wolves have played well considering their skilful opponents. Morgan Gibbs-White is playing like the young pretender in Neves absence, and IthinkJota has had a good half too.
Coady was unlucky with the goal, it was on target and clearly one of those shots he felt he had to try and block and it went in off his head. He wasn't to know Rui had it covered. Vinagre has worked well down the left wing like more of a winger than a defender. Chances for Wolves have been very limited but they have put some good moves together to threaten well.
The referee has been a bit fussy and would do well to let play continue if he can
All over folks Wolves 2 Chelsea 1
What a great match - really enjoyable to watch. We contained Chelsea's threat for much of the second half and played out well from the back, and believe me we scored two really good goals. I'm made up for Jimenez and Jota, and for MGW in particular who played really well, but then again they all did, and Nuno's substitutions made sense tonight!!
Great result and really well deserved.
Thanks for your company tonight & for your input Ian
I'm visiting Bath Christmas markets this weekend and will not be able to do a commentary for our game at New Astor. I will do my best to set the page up in the morning and hope others will contribute during the game.
Kudos to Nuno for making the needed changes for this match.
It worked well..after a while.
Our central midfield is of course a key area,as central midfield tends to be.
MGW,Moutinho and Saiss provided the required effort and class for us to stay in the match during the first 55 minutes, and for us to be able to turn it around.
Especially pleased to see our forwards getting goals.
The match was also a good remainder to some just how far we have left to go in order for us to really challenge for a top four place in this division.Chelsea could easily have been both two and three goals up after 55 minutes.
It was a good win for us,but I will try not to go overboard with feelings.Ten points down to 18 place feels really nice.Let´s continue to show this attitude and willingness to run ourselves to the ground for the rest of season...and we will be more than allright.
Next up Newcastle.I would continue with five guys in midfield.I am very interested to see how Neves and MGW will work together.Potentially,it sounds like a winning midfield combo paired with Moutinho or even Saiss.
Our MOTM for me was MGW.The kid is going places, hopefully with us.
What a fabulous result, every player worked their socks off.
Hopefully the fact that two of our strikers hit the back of the net will give them added confidence to continue in that vein.
Such a performance against poor showings against Cardiff and Huddersfield shows how difficult the prediction league will be this season.
