World Cup

I[m not that interested in international football until it comes to tournament finals but I see there are some big countries struggling to qualify. Holland certainly won't as they need to beat Sweden by 7 goals tonight. Portugal will probably beat Switzerland but they will need to if they are to qualify automatically and the Swiss so far have a 100% record. Even Argentina are currently outside the qualifying places and need to get a result away to Ecuador where they haven't won since 2001 and have lost two of their last three visits.

Doesn´t seem to be alot of interest in the upcoming WC on this site.
Is it Russia that is the problem or disappointment in the overall England performances that is the main culprit?

I saw Holland vs England, and I thought England looked decent enough.
With a favourable group draw and rather solid squad then Russia 2018 could very well be the best championship tourney since 1990..at least.

I will be more interested when it gets closer and there being no club football.
As far as England go, they should qualify from the group and obviously after that it depends how the draw works out in the knock-out stages but I would be surprised if they get beyond the quarter-finals.
To be fair, Southgate hasn't got a lot to select from although he's already said that he won't choose anyone from outside the Premier so I suppose if Neves was English he wouldn't be chosen even though he is good enough to play for Portugal, the European Champions.

Pretty strong England squad if you ask me.Don´t know about Welbeck though, but he will hardly be played anyways.

Hart is out.Right decision if you ask me.

Central midfield looks like the problem area on paper anyways.

I actually think England has the potential to reach pretty far this time.
Belgium is overrated anyways.I say England should reach the quarters with prospects of advancing even further.

Then again,I thought you were going to win it in Mexico 86.

Why you didn´t started the match with John Barnes I will never understand.

For our part it looks decent at the moment.
South Corea can´t even score against Bolivia and lose against Bosnia.
Mexico squad is celebrating their 1-0 win against mighty Scotland with escorts.

For your part..it continues to look quite solid.
Watching now against Costa Rica, and it looks good.

Don´t look away in Wolverhampton this summer.
England is on to something..and it actually looks good.
