Made Xhaka look world class.
He was awful for Spain against Sweden.

I didn't watch the game. But Ceballos is worse defensively than elneny and not as good as wilshere and ramsey when it comes to the final ball.
His biggest strength is dribbling under pressure and releasing balls from the deep like arteta, but arteta was better defensively.

Christ sake if we're giving a Β£70m Pepe a free pass for performing terrible as it's his first season, then a young talented Spanish lad who is finding his feet with the pace of the PL should be treated the same.
Way too early to be writing him off or comparing him to this player or that for ability.

Its not about writing someone off. It's about finding a position which suits them. He has good shooting technique and releases the ball well under pressure. He is also great at riding challenges.
Wilshere was similar but the final ball was not at the level of cazorla, cesc, ozil, etc.
But it shouldn't be s pbm as emery isn't really attacking with his nos 10. His preference is to attack from the wings using wingers and fullbacks.
As long as his role is clear, he will do well. Don't expect him to play many throughballs like cesc or cazorla or ozil when they played well for us.

A pointless player like Denis Suarez.
Neither hare nor fowl - hasn't got a clue what is his best position.
Box-to-box? Nay, just a nuisance compared to Ramsey.
Creative playmaker - slightly better than Denilson as he executed less sideway and backward passes. Cannot hold a candle to Fabregas and even Ozil.
DCM? Nay, lack physicality to play in the English game. Torreira and WIllock is way ahead of him.
No wonder Xhaka is overall a better choice than Ceballos, Torreira and Willock as the midfield anchor of this team.
Ceballos is not the answer to our midfield woes. Best start looking for another creative playmaker with an engine to go box-to-box like Fabregas or Vieira.
Guendouzi will be our answer to Xhaka if he continues to develop at this rate, with a 80-mil rated Ceballos surplus to our requirement with Willock, Smith-Rowe, Saka, Nelson (Burton as well?) developing rapidly and up-and-coming youngsters in Balogun and Azeez ready to step up next eason.
"The idea is to be more unpredictable every year and be more difficult for the opponents to stop and nullify what we want to do. Thatβs what we have now, especially at the back and in the midfield the options we have, to open up the spaces, we have many more options than we had last year.β Mikel Arteta

He can work in tje right team setup but won't be changing matches on his own. If we are looking for a traditional nos 10 like de bryune or ozil, he won't work.
His best position is the arteta role alongside guendouzi, but we need another pass master ahead of them (don't fancy willock s passing abilities yet).
Otherwise we become one dimensional relying too heavily on saka, pepe and Tierney for creativity which we will be till the end of this season at least. Don't see us signing anyone in Jan

Apparently Dani Ceballos wants to stay at Arsenal permanently after being told he has no future at Real Madrid.
According to reports in Spain, as cited on 90min, the Gunners have been handed a huge transfer boost as they eye a permanent deal to land the midfielder.
After talks with Real, Ceballos has been given a clear update on his future and now itβs time for Arsenal to make a decision.
34 Million
Is he worth paying that amount for.
I'm not sure he is.

not done enough to convince the club to splash that amount for him. Need to start proving himself. only match winners should go anything above 30k .

Good player. Only going to get better. Good mentality and a leader in the pitch. Needs to get better physically. But if Xhaka and mustafi were worth 30m, then Ceballos is definitely worth that much.

34mn is a good price in current market. Offers more output than iwobi or oxlade chamberlain does for Liverpool

Probably need to sell Xhaka before we can buy Ceballos.

We really don't want to be buying him.
He clearly isn't up to it.

If he has someone who can improve his positioning and teach him how to track runners (my guess is he has always played more in a creative role in his youth) he can become a modric like DM. Modric improved drastically defensively after going to madrid as most players at real were attack minded and for the longest time madrid wouldn't play an out and out DM.
But there is no way to truly judge if he will improve there. But yesterday s improvement in tackles makes me in the fence.

He must be a good player because heβs starting for Spain. Perhaps he needs some time to adjust.
As it stands I wouldnβt want us to buy him. He adds little defensively or offensively

Ideally willock would be great playing deep. He is wuick over 2 yards and can make the basic out passes needed from a DM. He has the ability to defend but not sure about willingness to play in that position.
Currently he is being played in the opponents half and although he scored a worldie, he has limited abilities there.
He doesn't have a gray long pass but in theory should do a better job than coquelin who became somewhat of a revolution before he decided to start playing fancy wing switching passes for which he had no abilities.
