I can't be the only person on this forum who is getting fed up of playing against teams with only 10 men. No more to be said. Pi@#ed off with lack of discipline.

No your not the only one, but the reason is multifaceted.
Firstly the player’s are not good enough, as opposed to being ahead of the game they are behind it and constantly chasing it.
Secondly there is no leader on the pitch, no one in the younger players ears winding them in, down or up depending on the need. There is no one running the show, no one taking hold of the game and moving players around, the pitch is a quiet place from a Tranmere perspective.
Thirdly, having had experience of the inner workings of the club, its a club thats always had discipline problems and took a long time to move towards the professional athlete area which resulted in our ultimate demise and a place in the NL. MM & MP have gone someway to trying to improve this but its a club whose players have always fashioned an old style view to football, a game followed by a pint or 20 and a good old night out, and this to some extent still runs through some of the veins.

We are easily one of the roughest teams in the EFL, but physicality and shithousery are fairly easy to play against. It works when you’ve got players that can play a physical game, but the young players are too lightweight and inexperienced to play like that. Danns, Perkins and Banks are all very good at it, Nors was a master in that respect as was McNulty.
I think the defence is lacking a leader, the defence is not connected to the midfield and currently we only seem to have Morris putting together any sort of consistency.

Agreed, theres nobody with a mouth on the pitch. Doesnt need to be screaming in faces but does need to be saying to the players - dont be a dick and give idiot refs a reason to card you

All perfectly well said. The referee yesterday was abysmal and Ifollow didn't show the incident in full but it did look like CBT was deliberately "walking past" their player to stop the kick being taken. That plus his lack of tracking back makes him a bit too much of a luxury player at times. But 2 sendings off in half a season is not acceptable...

I think we must except it now this team is not anywhere near good enough to stay in league one at best it's a team full of average league 2 players mm is a good manager at this level but mp won't spend out ridiculous sums if money and you can't blame him for that .it was great getting a second in a row promotion but we came up to early and with a team not good enough .so I think we will go back down this season and it would not be a disaster we will be stronger club for it we can come back maybe in couple of seasons time a better stronger side ..but sorry to say this season we were just not ready for league one .

Really, come on.
Last time we were in this situation we all said the same. How wrong were we. It’s time for MP to put some money into the team and not the education centre. This is a worse situation than the last time we go relegated. Our team would struggle in league 2, so when we are back in league 2 and half these players have left, then down we go again. Sorry but you all need to wake up and get your heads out of MPs backside.

any money if any that will be spent in January needs to be spent on players who will be an upgrade and not players with existing fitness issues their needs to be an overhaul of our recruitment policy

No club has more red cards in division than us. We need a good shake up in the new year.

Maybe they would struggle but thne again maybe not. however if Tranmere got relegated and still had players like Jenning's, Nelson, Davies. Monthe, who played for Tranmere in league 2, I would suggest they wouldn't struggle.
As for putting money in, it works when you've got it, but it shouldn't happen when you haven't and Tranmere can't risk financial misfortune, or breaking percentage of turnover on wages rules or risk penalties.
Bolton are a good example of not spending more than you can. Palios is no doubt encouraging more spend on players, but that also comes from off field initiatives too. Right now the balance seems fairly good between spending on the team and the infrastructure and it may not be perfect in either case, but right now, giving Micky double bubble to spend and ending up giving administrators an itch that might need scratching, isn't prudent.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

I'm not saying that we should throw money at the team, all I'm saying is stop the stupid yellow cards, and red ones.......

Get a grip. Clubs relegated into non-league are nearly always small clubs who time has caught up with, or absolute basket cases. Notts County under Hardy were obviously the latter. We don't fall into either category.
And to the other poster whingeing about 'heads up the owner's backside', it's precisely because of the current owners that we don't fall into either of those categories.

Agreed.
I remember after the daft red cards at Bristol Rovers MM suggested the players would struggle to get their places back because they'd let the team down. That particular penny seemed to drop for Banks when he eventually did get back in. Wonder if Wilson was getting a dose of the same yesterday?
CBT will no doubt be given some time for reflection over the coming weeks too! Especially as that was his second red of the season.

It was stupid, avoidable and a booking in accordance with the rules of the game.
What annoys me about it all, is the inconsistency of the officials, how many times do we see players deliberately standing in front of free kicks and not retiring the 10 metres and generally nothing happens. On the odd occasion, exactly what happen on Saturday, has simply been ignored and the free kick retaken.

Quote:I think if you look again at the highlights the ref went to his pocket keen as he was to make himself the centre of attention and only after he had very obviously taken it out of his pocket did he realise it was a player he had already booked. At that point he had no choice but to carry on and follow the letter of the law and issue a second yellow as to put his card back in his pocket would get him even more criticism by the ref assessorJack of all Trades

Simply solved by not giving him a stupid reason to get his card out

Believe it or not and it was a surprise to me we are not bottom of the Lg1 naughty table but we have had the most red cards being 5 with a few teams on 4!!! We are somewhat behind the leaders of the yellow stakes having had 27 players booked with Oxford leading the way on 39. Oxford have had no red cards, 3 of our 5 reds have been double bookings of which we are clear leaders. So in summation the referees are not the problem it is in fact our players intelligence or in fact lack thereof once they have been booked possibly mixed in with poor management response to players being booked and game situation.
