Let's Be Positive
Ireland

I'd rather get a 6-0 spanking at the beginning of the season than at the end. The hammering at Newcastle is a wake up call to everyone at Villa especially Randy Lerner and the players.
If Carew has scored that pen [or even kept it on the planet] it may well have been different.
But let's face it taking on the Loony Toons in their first home game back in the Premiership was always going to be a big ask.
So. Stephen Ireland will be an asset once he's settled in. Lerner will have to spend big to get a big name manager and the players will have to bounce back from what must have been a personal humilation for them.
That is as optomistic as I can get at the moment.

Nothing positive about being hammered 6-0 for me. Couldnt really get an good idea of the game on the telly because of all the shadows on the pitch - thought the sun never shone in the far off north!!
But there were far too many players just coasting along and that seems to me that they dont want Mac as the manager.
Hope Sturday's performance doesnt mean that age is catching up with Dunn.
