Barnsley will hope to build on a resiliant display against Oxford when they host Aldershot in the FA Cup at Oakwell this weekend.

The Reds are on a run of 11 games without a win in all competitions and could do with a victory against National League opposition.

In terms of squad news, striker Ben Hamed Toure has returned home to the Ivory Coast following a family bereavement.

Head coach Daniel Stendel said: “He is not in Barnsley for private reasons and he cannot play on Saturday.

“Some things happen on the weekend, it changes the situation. It's not good for him. It's a tough situation for him, but still also a tough situation for us because we have a lot of expectation. At the moment the human is more important than the player.”

Connor O'Riordan is set to meet a specialist next Monday about a shoulder injury he picked up in training.

Barnsley are also not set to appeal Jack Shepherd's red card, meaning he will be suspended for three matches.

As for opponents Aldershot Town, they currently sit 14th in the National League.

They beat ninth tier Tadley Calleva in a replay to reach the First Round proper.

The Shots are managed by Scott Davies, who took charge in April 2026.

They have been in England's fifth tier since they dropped out of the EFL in 2013.

The two sides last played each other in 1987, and Barnsley have won nine and lost three of the 17 meetings between the clubs.
