Burnley 1 Tottenham Hotspur 1

Top scorer Chris Wood was back with a bang as the Clarets extended their unbeaten Premier League run to seven games.

Wood’s return to the starting line-up for the first time in three weeks brought the striker his 11th goal of the season and another against Tottenham.

Unlike in last season’s corresponding fixture this was not to be in a winning cause as the Clarets couldn’t turn a magnificent first-half performance into all three points and movement above Spurs into the top eight.

Dele Alli’s second-half penalty stopped the rot for the visitors but Wood, who also scored a point-saving goal against Spurs at Wembley three years ago, made sure Sean Dyche’s men would get the least they deserved as they moved to within one point of the magical 40 with nine games of the campaign to go.

The Clarets had suffered a chastening 5-0 defeat at Tottenham in December but both clubs now find themselves in a different place.

And Burnley’s well-being was perfectly illustrated by a superb first-half performance which was up there with anything they’ve produced at Turf Moor this season.

Great display by the lads in the first half, Sanchez push in the back of Wood should have been a penalty. Jon Moss was absolutely abysmal with his decisions he was booking everyone for every tackle, he needs to be gone not up to it.

Extremely disappointed with Sky after match coverage, totally biased, We were the home team but they decided to only interview Ali, none of our players, also Mourhino geting to speak first for 3 times longer than Sean, disgusting.

Anyways another point closer to sure safety. (Sm152)

Talks cheap....Billion £ stadium and megabucks squad all managed by wonderboy. Sky and the rest of em can plaster over the cracks as much as they like but most of the prem big boys are fluff and blag when considering return on investment. Today we are very dissappointed at losing 2 points....tha'ts reality check for the chosen ones. Well done again SD and co.

Superb first half by Burnley, a wee dip early second half but got right back into it. Watched it in the pub, and all the lads thought it was a very good game. 👍

Great first half for us.. Second half we fell off a bit,but still could have won it with two clear cut chances missed and a blatant penalty appeal turned down.. Spuds were very lucky at times.. Citeh up next ..
