Amazing Claim By Noel Hunt!

It seems that in the aftermath of the Republic's 1-1 draw with Italy, as the dust settled, one man has some unfinished business. Noel Hunt has amazingly staked HIS claim to the equalising goal which has been accredited to Robbie Keane.
After playing half an hour in the stalemate with the Italians, Hunt could well be pushing for a place in the starting line up in the International Friendly against Nigeria next month. However this alone is not enough for Hunt, who has insisted that it was he and not Keane who got the vital touch for the late goal. He has stated he will be pursuing this through whatever avenues needs be.
Hunt said "I got myself in between the defender and the ball and as I slipped I poked it and it went into back of the net. Robbie was coming in from the other side and he kicked into me. I think he was just going for the ball as well. It was only my second cap and to score against the world champions, I can never forget that. I am going to look into how it is looked at, what channels you have got to go through, through Uefa and stuff and see what happens because I do firmly believe it was my goal.”
He continues to state that in the celebrations, he approached Keane and told him that it was not his goal, and that Hunt had gotten the vital touch, to which Robbie laughed off, giving the impression that it was his own goal.
However Giovani Trapattoni has stated, somewhat humourously, as he shook his head and laughed "He (Noel) was happy but it was Robbie Keane who scored the goal.”
Maybe not exactly the ideal start to his International career, questioning the countries all time top scorer over who scored, but nonetheless, it seems he won't be letting this one go.
