Kennedy Wins Libel Case

Wolves winger Mark Kennedy has been awarded substantial damages from The Sun newspaper over a story printed last year falsely depicting a bust up between him and David Beckham.

Mark Kennedy,it has today been revealed,has won substantial damages from The Sun newspaper over a story they printed in September of 2001.The story claimed that Kennedy had been involved in a nightclub bust-up with England skipper David Beckham.The amount paid out to the Irish international however is undisclosed as a confidentiality agreement was signed between the two parties.

Todays copy of The Sun does also carry a printed apology made out to the player,also describing the action taken since the story was printed.Kennedy is currently out injured with a longstanding hamstring problem and is expected to return to fitness in around 2 months time.
