All's well that ends well as they say, after two minutes probably not , but a cracking second half display by Wolves had the fishy people all over the plaice.
GRIMSBY TOWN the name gives me goosebumps the shakes and shivers , Grimsby were one of the teams that started the horrific downhill slide last year they walked away from Molineux with a 1-0 win and runours around the internet world are saying it's possible lighting does strike twice please god no not on this special 125th anniversary day.
Surprise Surprise the form book was hit again and yet another early goal conceded by Wolves , the alarm bells started ringing very early as early as the 2nd minute when Grimsby took the lead when Kabba stole into the area unmarked and clipped the ball past Murray and the goosebumps and shivers were coming back and memories of last year of our collapse entered my mind.
Mark Clyde needed treatment to a nast head wound just after and the play was forced to halt for a few minutes , Wolves were at sixes and sevens at time and Grimsby were quite enjoying there display so far but a foul on the edge of the box shut them up for a while the free kick was about 20 yards out Irwin territory for sure , he surveyed the scene stepped up and curled a beautiful shot into the top corner 1-1.
Once again Wolves looked rocky at the back and a shot from Darren Barnard was brilliantly clipped of the line by the diving Murray , just before the break Wolves should have been 2-1 up when a long pass by Miller was dummyed by Cameron into the path of Rae, who is usually upto scratch in them positions but he could only drag his shot wide of the post.

Wolves got off to the better start and Grimsby were defending from the off , Coyne saved a great shot from Rae and Blake followed up but Coyne claimed the ball at the second attempt.
Wolves like at Stoke in the second half last week were upping the tempo bigtime and took the lead in the 65th minute ,when from nowere a brilliant strike from the edge of the area from Paul Ince was saved and parryed straight into the path of a gleeful Kenny Miller, who poked the ball into an empty net and Wolves took a deserved lead.
Almost straight after that and a great substition by DJ bringing on Ndah for Newton the sub got Wolves 3rd , Nathan Blakes strong pass was mis controlled by Cameron and Ndah seized the advantage when he wasn't picked up by 2 Grimsby defenders , he strode through them both rounded Coyne and rolled the ball into the net.
Grimsby by now were nowhere in sight and a piece of sublime thinking by Ince nearly got goal of the season at Molineux, when on the half way line he spotted Danny Coyne off his line and tried to lob the keeper but unluckily seeing it land the wrong side of the post by inches.
Wolves were awarded a penalty towards the end of the game when Paul Raven was penalised for hand ball , Deano stepped up and Dwight Yorke style saw his effort hit the bar and fly over , Stand up Steve Livingstone just after when he should have cut the arrears for Grimsby but from 6 yards and no one to beat he blazed his shot high over the crossbar got to be contender for miss of the season surely.
Dean Sturrigde made up for his penalty miss when he netted a near post free kick from Denis Irwin just inside the near post and Wolves wrapped up the pionts.
Wolves thouroughly deserved there victory and fittingly so in Wolves 125th year and it goes to show we are still one of the best sides in the divison , things are turning around (crossed fingers) roll on Gillingham tuesday and three pionts (crossed fingers again) and we will be up there with the top 6 pacesetters once more.
