Wolves Home game against Grimsby Town was special, not only did we win 4-1 but it was the game chosen to celebrate 125 years of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Every Football Fan dreams of having a chairman who is as passionate as the fans for success, who will put Money into the club when the clubs need it, will listen and answer honestly any questions posed to him, Wolves have that man, the name? Sir Jack Hayward OBE

Sir Jack returned back to England to witness the 4-1 thrashing of Grimsby however he was also reunited with many Wolves greats who paraded the pitch to help Wolves Celebrate 125 Years!

The Players who walked on to the pitch to a fabulous reception were:

Bert Williams, Bill Crook, Jimmy Dunn, Sammy Smyth, Bill Shorthouse, Malcom Finlayson, Ron Flowers, Norman Deeley, Bill Slater, Peter Broadbent, Mike Bailey, Derek Parkin, George Berry, Emlin Hughes and most recently Robbie Dennison, Andy Thompson, Keith Downing, Mike Stowell and the one and only, Steve Bull.

Speaking to the Wolves Programme Sir Jack Says:

"The horrendous events at the end of last season still haunt me and make me, like you, very angry. I can honestly say that I would have "Packed it in" in May believing (as is probably true) that I am a failure, a jinx or a jonah, if it had not been for the fantastic encouragement and support you all showed to me and your club - your buying of a record number of season tickets - your purchases in the club shop - and most endearingly your letters, messages and scribbled notes pushed under my cars windscreen wipers. A thousand grateful thanks. Today we celebrate the 125th anniversary of this great club Wolverhampton Wanderers. A club that was one of the 12 founder members of the Football League. A club that was once more famous and more revered than any other club in Great Britain and therefore the World. A club that upheld the honour of England when this country was attacked by the new teams of Europe which swept all before them until they came up against the mighty Wolves. This is the club of Billy Wright, Stan Cullis, Ron Flowers, Bill Slater, Bert Williams, Peter Broadbent, Mullen and Hancocks, John Richards, Steve Bull and so many other great names. This is the club which, with your support, can become again the greatest football club in the world, Your fellow fan, Jack"
