Paul Butler signed from Sunderland in 2000 for a fee of 1 million , he did spend a few months on loan before we signed him permanently.

He was quickly installed as new club captain and went onto establishing himself as the rock of the defence , he scored some crucail goals along the way as Wolves steamrolled towards what the thought was promotion but as we all no that failed.

This year Paul's career has taken some stick and with being booed off at home Reading he lost his captains arm band and along with that his first team place.

Press reports him being very unhappy at the situation of him losing his place but it's up to Paul to go snatch it back.
