Miller To Play For Scotland In Mainz

Wolves have had a terrible injury problems regarding their strikers this Season, and Jones hopes another striker is not going to be added to the list tonight.

Dave Jones has blamed International duty for Carlton Cole`s performance on Saturday.

 Cole who made only his second start for the Wolves against the Sky Blues on Saturday did not look half the player he did on his home debut against Norwich.

 Wolves Manager Dave Jones told IC Birmingham "Carlton's preparation for our weekend game was awful because he played for England under-20s on Thursday night and didn't get back up here until the early hours,"

 This comes as a worry to Jones who believes International call-ups to young players do not help the players Club performances, especially because Kenny Miller is tonight playing with Scotlands B Team.

 Miller, who is the fittest leading scorer is in Mainz and is expecting a start for the Scotland. Jones said "We have younger players going away for internationals at a time when we need them here to work with them at the training ground. But it's part of their learning curve."

 Wolves can not afford Miller to be injured tonight, as he and Cole are the only two fully fit strikers in the club.

 

Wolves yesterday passed their all-time record of 18,169 season ticket sales - set in the promotion near-miss year of 1996-97 - and are still selling around 30 a day.

"These figures reflect the fact we have a good team and exciting international players, and the optimism among fans," said Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey.
