Wolves turn out at home at Molineux for the final time this season and face Everton in a game which may have a huge impact on how our opponents season finishes, in light of the struggles they have had throughout the season.
Coach Julen Lopetegui has stated that even though Wolves have achieved their main objective of Premiership safety three games ahead of schedule, he wants the team to continue to aim for the highest finish possible next week. Meanwhile Everton still face the very serious risk of relegation should they fail to gain 3 points in this game, with themselves, Leicester, Leeds United or Notts Forest likely to join Southampton in the Championship next season. Their recent win at Brighton - who previously smashed Wolves for six - showed they have the potential to upset the home fans if Wolves are not very well focused.
Wolves of course won at Goodison Park on Boxing Day last year in Lopetegui's first game, a win which started the improvement needed to climb away from the bottom of the table. However only four of the players who started that game started at Old Trafford last Saturday. Another big change of course was to see Dan Bentley brought in for his debut in goal replacing Jose Sa, and he performed very well indeed bringing off some excellent and important saves. The Boss has said that he has already decided which of the two will be in goal tomorrow but is not saying. Raul Jimenez also returned to action for the last 20 minutes of last week's game so it will be interesting to see whether he plays any part in this game.
Much of the talk at the moment is around which players will want to leave at the end of this season, who the club will want to retain - besides Nelson Semedo whose two year contract extension has been triggered by the club this week - and whether players will try to put in extraordinary performances in this match to try and convince the fans and the management that they should stay. Sadly the likelihood is that this will be the last time that Captain Ruben Neves graces the Molineux pitch in the Old Gold after what has been an exemplary stay at the club.
The game will kick off at 3pm and will not be televised before Match Of The Day. Our referee will be David Coote with Paul Tierney on VAR Duty
Unfortunately once again this board will not be offering the usual level of updates throughout the game as Ivybridge Wolf and Cheshire Wolf will once again be sat together in the North Bank, hopefully enjoying the match. However visitors and board members are encouraged to post their own observations for the benefit of those unable to otherwise follow the game and to create a conversation.

Oh well on to the last game arsenal.
Started well, meeting up, as we do in the Combermere in Chapel Ash, accompanied by Mrs Ivy Wolf too. Chesh and other members of Ivybridge Wolves pitched up in the sunny beer garden for a few and a lovely walk up to the ground in tropical conditions. I hear Hayes Travel will be promoting central Wolverhampton as a holiday destination shortly, on todays showing, count me in. They also need to mention the Molineux Balti pies, a gastronomic delight to pull ‘em in from far and wide.
Good build up to the match at least. A strange one for sure, lots of errors from both sides, giving the ball away for fun …… very scrappy indeed. Added to that Everton players falling over at will and successfully hoodwinking the ref on every occasion. Cue loads of yellow cards cards for our lads. Everton pressed on, getting corners and maybe growing in an otherwise even encounter when out of the suns rays emerged Adama Traore, ball at feet, dribbling, forging, a gazelle riding the forlorn and desperate challenges, changing angles sharply and unleashing a terrific shot, Pickford parried, a fine save only to view Hwang sending his gratitude who duly picked up the pieces. 1-0!! Wonderful!!
Second half both teams had spells on top, often assisted by their respective opponents through poor play or lack of ball retention, Everton got the lion share of the corners but I must be honest, even when 9 additional minutes went on, I couldn’t see Everton scoring …… or us for that matter. We had a corner, I think we had 2 men in the box awaiting the cross, of course nothing happened, they kept going and a lack of communication between Collins and Bentley led to a corner which led to the goal mouth scramble which resulted in delirium in the lower Steve Bull, Evertonians going wild! 1-1.
Gutting to be honest.
Nice presentation at FT, Neves getting the players player and supporters player of the season. Who else? He has been magnificent all season long. Nunes won Wolves goal the season v Chelsea. The lap of honour is always good, however Neves and the Raul were correctly afforded a fabulous reception from the crowd. Was that the final time we’ll see them in Old Gold? What about all of the others? Time will tell, though I’m sure they’ll be big changes perhaps starting with Semedo …….. oh, wait a minute …….!!!
That’s it then. Just another 9-10 weeks and we can start all over again. 2023/24 here we come.

Sadly there was a bad road traffic accident down brownshore lane last night in which 2 or 3 young lads lost their life, you probably drove down that road ivy on the way to the mol there are open fields. Very sad. Thoughts with their families.
Well done winning the prediction league ivy I tried my hardest to chase you down but it wasn't meant to be, a worthy winner.
A lovely village, Essington, and yes we drove up Brownshore Lane, that’s really sad and terrible news to hear.
Now Forest are safe, I hope Leicester grab an unlikely win tonight, as I'd prefer them to survive than their contenders.
