Dave Jones believes that the pathetic performance and draw with Stoke on Wednesday night was "A good point"

Wolves manager Dave Jones claims that last nights pathetic performance was "a good point for Wolves" despite dropping more points at "Fortress Molineux".

Jones was boosted by the news that Paul Butler, Joleon Lescott, Shaun Newton and Lee Naylor were all ready to make comebacks after they all missed last weekends loss at Portsmouth due to injury, Colin Cameron however dropped to the bench in place of Alex Rae who`s recent impressive performances has earned him his 3rd consecutive start.

 Stoke, like many teams this season played with just one striker and just tried to defend and defend - and again, like many teams this season, left with a point. Wolves simply are unable to break down any team with Five defenders, a pathetic two shots on target underlines the lack of threat in attack Wolves pose facing a packed defence.

Last night was far to familiar for Wolves fans and Jones moans about the negativity which surrounds Molineux, but with the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Reading, Brighton, Coventry, Bradford, Derby, Wimbledon and now Stoke all taking something from their visits to our "Fortress Molineux", what else can the man expect?

Jones discusses the negativity around Molineux and even talks about Stokes chance of survival in his post-match press interview.

 

"People will say that's two points dropped but I think it's a good point for Wolves because if you can't take three, you'd want to take one.

"But no doubt I'll get up in the morning and the storm clouds will be here, I'll have to fight my way through the fog before having to cheer up the receptionist and then cheer up the groundsman.

"There always seems to be a negative side to things around this place and I will not allow that into my dressing room, I won't allow it.

"There are people who live in this area who will think of something negative and write it or say it.

"I hate negativity and I always try and look on the bright side, no matter how bad it looks you always look on the bright side - and I know that better than anyone.

"Back in December we were mediocre, going nowhere, finished. But now we're in a good position, fifth, and I'm not looking at those teams behind us, why should I? I'm looking forward."

 

"Stoke just sat there and they weren't coming out, in fact there was a 15-minute period when I don't think they set foot in our half.

"If their centre-backs had crossed the halfway line they would've needed a compass to get back.

"But the onus was on us and we couldn't break them down.

"They're delighted with their point but will a point be enough for Stoke at the end of the season? We'll have to wait and see."
