Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey has told press that he has not closed the door for Manager Dave Jones to bring in an extra player before Thursdays transfer deadline.
Jones has expressed his will to sign one more player as an insurance policy as Wolves go into the final games of the season, and although the club believe the players that Jones has at his disposal are good enough, they have not given the red, or green light regarding an addition before Thursdays 5pm Transfer deadline.
Speaking to IC Birmingham, Jez Moxey said
"Every manager wants one more player and I would want to make sure we have done everything we can to cement a position in the play-offs.
"In an ideal world, where money was no object, we might well strengthen but is bringing another player in the answer?
"We have consistently said we feel the team are good enough and this isn't even a subject I've spoken to Dave about, with the deadline in mind. Yes, we are always talking about the team, but I think he has great faith in the players already here."
"We haven't given any kind of approval for Dave to go out and make a signing, nor have we closed the door."
Last Year, Jones signed Kevin Cooper for a £1m and took on Gunnar Halle and Jacob Laursen but neither player made any impact on the squad, and were both released.
"What happened last season won't be a factor now," Moxey added. "We are thinking only about the present and the future and the matter will be considered on current merits"
Wolves` away league match at Grimsby has now been confirmed to take place on Tuesday 8th April, 2003.
