Wolves have made a fresh loan bid for Newcastle's fifth choice striker Carl Cort on loan till the end of the season.

Wolves failed in a bid to bring Cort to Molineux earlier in the season and face a fresh challenge to bring him here again.

With Craig Bellamy facing a ban and Michael Chopra leaving for a loan spell at Watford , Geordie boss Bobby Robson is left with three strikers Alan Shearer , Lomana LuaLua and Shola Ameobi and that could be the over riding factor in Jones missing out on Cort again.

Bobby Robson as said "Dave Jones came in for Carl yesterday and I'm thinking about it."

Jones has got until 5pm tommorow to try and land Cort , but he is hoping to get an answer today so if he is turned down he can explore other avenues before the transfer deadline.
