Dave Jones currently has Kenny Miller, Henri Camara, Dean Sturridge, George Ndah, Steffen Iversen and Nathan Blake fighting over the number 9 jersey and whilst trialists Kris Boyd and Maris Verpakovskis are impressing, chances for Proudlock are drying up. Proudlock scored 3 goals for Wolves last season, in a season which he also spent time on loan at Tranmere Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday. Walsall have been short up-front and see Proudlock as the ideal Striker needed to team up with Paul Merson to give Walsall the push up the table they need as they hope to start a realistic promotion challenge. Colin Lee, a great admirer of Proudlock hopes to have the deal secured by Saturday when Walsall play Coventry. |
