The superb statue of Billy Wright still stands proud outside the clubs main entrance and a week ago today, the equally impressive Stan Cullis was erected outside the ticket office in the aptly named Stan Cullis Stand. Jones believes that players have the determination to survive next season, especially after the way they came back from play-off disaster the season before last. "I have great faith in my players because I think I know their characters and they overcame a great deal after what happened the season before last," Jones told the Express and Star. "I hope this team get their picture on the wall because they have taken this club up and that's a great achievement. "But we must stay there and that's my next challenge. We salute and bow to the statues of this football club but if we stay up then this bunch of players deserve to have their picture on the wall." "We have to be brave and strong," said Jones. "We have some flair in the team and we know we can score goals - Newcastle was no fluke. "When we didn't go up it hurt when people said our bottle had gone, when all we had done was run out of steam. "Last season we showed our mettle to bounce back - that's achieving something and it takes a lot of guts. "The players here now are wanting to take this club on to the next stage." And tomorrow they will make history, as they will step out in front of 4,000 fans in the Darwen end at Blackburn`s Ewood Park for the clubs first ever Premiership Game. Wolves will be hoping to claim a 13 undefeated run on the first
day of the season.
