Wolves Legend Steve Bull is backing the Gold and Black Barmy Army to turn things around in the Premiership and survive. Wolves have had a terrible start to the season and were tipped for relegation before a ball was even kicked. That sounds harsh in itself, but after Wolves conceded 9 goals in just two games, losing 5-1 and 4-0 to Blackburn and Charlton respectively the pundits looked more than right. "People are writing us off already and they shouldn't be doing that." Steve Bull told the BBC. Wolves then traveled to Old Trafford on a Wednesday night live on SKY. The game was built up as the biggest miss-match in Premiership History, but a battling performance allowed the players to hold their heads up high with pride, despite losing the game 1-0. The following Saturday Wolves took their first point of the season at home to Portsmouth and really should have won, Pompey were flying high in 3rd place at the time following a 4-0 demolition of Bolton earlier in the week. "I saw them against Manchester United and Portsmouth and thought things were much better." Bull added in his interview with the BBC. "The first two games were a case of welcome to the Premier League but the players have come down to earth with a bang and now they are getting to grips with the pace of it." Wolves then lost 2-0 to a Southampton side who have failed to lose a game this season. Wolves were playing well, and arguably shading the match until referee Uriah Rennie pointed to the spot after Saints forward Kevin Phillips fell-over in the box. The pundits still have Wolves tipped to go straight back down whilst some bookies have stopped taking odds on a Wolves relegation, but Bull still remains positive. "Wolves fans want more than just a year back. They want to be thinking that in a few years time we can be challenging for the top 10. Hopefully in years to come that will happen." "We are only five games into the season and, with a bit more luck, we'll turn it round and start getting some wins. Henry Camara has had an absolutely brilliant start and once he gets one goal he will probably get them all. "People are already talking
about Albion coming back up and Wolves going down again but it took us
19 years to get back up there and I wouldn't want us to get knocked down
again after only one year, because it won't be easy to get here
again."
