Dean Sturridge hopes to have thrown his hat into the ring for Saturdays Premiership clash at Molineux against Manchester City after scoring in a reserve game against Leeds.

Dean Sturridge hopes to have thrown his hat into the ring for Saturdays Premiership clash at Molineux against Manchester City after scoring in a reserve game against Leeds. Sturridge, who due to injuries has made just one Premiership appearance for Wolves scored in last nights Reserve game against Leeds United and hope to be named in the squad for the visit of Manchester City. Sturridge told WOW "It was good to be back, even if it was only a reserve game. I felt a little bit rusty at first and I`d like to think that normally I`d have put away the one-on-one chance I had during the first half". "I haven`t played since the first day of the season and obviously it has been frustrating not being able to take part. Thankfully my hip feels fine now. I didn`t suffer from any after effects this morning, so now I just want to push for a place in the first team because I feel that I can do a job there". Sturridge however has to be aware that there will be tough competition for places at Molineux. Slowly the injury clouds are clearing and Jones will soon have Henri Camara, Kenny Miller, Dean Sturridge, Steffen Iversen and Nathan Blake all in contention.
