Wolves Club Captain Paul Butler is expected to be told the results of the Football Assocations investigation regarding the scenes after the Middelesbrough game, sparking fears that the centre back may be given a 3 match ban.

The Football Association have taken the report from the Referee of the November the 1st game and have been studying video evidence from the tunnel. The game was on a knife edge throughout the game, especially when instigator of the trouble Danny Mills elbowed Lee Naylor, despite this incident escaping the attention of the referee it was picked up by TV cameras. 15 minutes from time Danny Mills clashed with Wolves full-back Lee Naylor. Mills then picked up the ball and threw it down in frustration before squaring up to Naylor. Several Wolves Players then moved in the direction of Naylor and Mills to calm the situation down and astonishingly, with the referee with his back to the ball and the linesman on the pitch a quick free-kick was taken which saw Mendieta smash the ball into the net. 2 minutes from time Alex Rae was sent off for two bookable offenses. Wolves appealed to the referee about the sending off, which was later overturned. At the final whistle, with Danny Mills keeping out the way a scuffle appeared to break out in the tunnel and this is what the FA have been looking at, and in particular, Paul Butler. "We have received the referee's report and have been looking at the video footage and studying the various angles and talking to the people involved." Said an FA Spokesman "We haven't yet come to a decision, but we expect something to happen over this issue in the next 24 hours." Source: The FA Talking To The Birmingham Post.
