Exclusive: Why The FA Will Not Punish Danny Mills

The Football Association have replied to the letter Wolvesfc.co.uk sent to the FA on behalf of all the requests we had from visitors of this website and have told us why Danny Mills of Middlesbrough will be unpunished for his actions on the 1st November.

We sent this letter to the Football Association on the 5th of November in hope that the FA would reply and explain to us whether they would treat the Danny Mills incident in the same and fair way which they did to certain Arsenal Players after the well documented trouble following the 0-0 draw at Old Trafford. Since the letter was sent we have learnt that Wolves Club Captain Paul Butler has been charged by the FA for Misconduct following his actions in the tunnel after the Middlesbrough game. Paul Ince will also have to explain his comments about the referee to the FA whilst Danny Mills will receive no punishment. In the FA`s letter to us, which we are unable to copy in full, the Football Association claim that they are aware of Danny Mills actions after the first goal but are incredibly unable to take any further Action. The Football Association told this Website "The referee cautioned Mr Mills in respect of this (His goading of Lee Naylor after the first goal) behaviour at the time of the incident." "As a result of the fact that the referee (and his assistants) saw the incident and took action to sanction the player involved, we do not have jurisdiction to intervene and take further action against the player". The referee on the day, Mr Dunn has since upturned a wrong decision from the game. He realised his caution of Alex Rae was wrong and, all credit to him, he took away the yellow card.
