Scotland and Wales had their Portugal Dreams ended tonight after 6-0 and 1-0 defeats respectively. However Jones will be interested in a piece of news from Turkey, whilst Iversen will also be staying at home next summer.

Wolves target Maris Verpakovskis scored one and created a goal for Latvia in a stunning 2-2 draw in Turkey.

A single Verpakovskis goal in the first leg had given the Latvians a lead going into the second leg and with the score finishing 2-2 in Turkey it means Latvia qualify for a European Tournament for the first time in their history.

Kenny Miller was a second half substitution in Holland as the Dutch hammered Scotland 6-0.

Scotland were leading 1-0 from the first leg but 3 goals either side of half time completed a terrible night for the Scottish.

Nathan Blake was a second half substitute for Wales who also go out. A single Russia goal was enough to send the Welsh out despite a spirited performance in the first leg.

Ryan Giggs came closest for Wales, hitting the post in the first half from ten yards.

Finally, Steffen Iversen and Norway will also be staying at home next summer.

Steffen Iversen scored the only Norway goal of the two-legged tie as Spain won 2-1 in Madrid, but a 3-0 away win see`s the Spanish through comfortably.
