At 1.30 today, the FA Barclaycard Premiership game was postponed. Terrible weather conditions had hampered the Midlands and the pitch was called "unplayable" today.

Terrible weather conditions caused several games to be postponed today, including two premiership games.

Games at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest, Derby County and Shrewsbury were all called off due to waterlogged pitches.

Today`s referee Mike Riley decided that todays game would not go ahead at 1.30pm today after a pitch inspection.

Wolves Manager Dave Jones said "We brought in a special sponging machine but with it still being raining the water was going back on the pitch as soon as we took it off".

"We would both have wanted to have played so it`s disappointing  but the ball wouldn`t roll. I am sad for all the fans who have travelled."
