Mark Kennedy was today told that he will not require surgery on his damaged groin. Had he had needed surgery the winger would have spent a long time on the touchline.

The Official Wolves website states that Mark Kennedy WILL NOT need surgery on a torn Groin muscle. The Republic of Ireland Winger sustained the injury when attempting a shot in the home defeat against Grimsby back in March. Kennedy has made several come-backs to the injury, however has broken down each time. The latest incident forcing Kennedy to pull out of the Republic of Ireland`s World Cup squad, however Kennedy will undergo extra training to assure his fitness ahead of the pre-season programme. Manager Dave Jones says “The last thing we would want is to see Mark come back for the pre-season and join in with the other lads only for him to break down again. “This way we hope that by the time everyone else comes back we’ve got some assurances that Mark is fit enough to join in.”
