Wanderers Luckily earned a replay against Third Division Strugglers
Kidderminster Harriers at the Aggborough Stadium.
Jones made four changes
from the team which beat Leeds United on Sunday. Mark Clyde replaced the
flu-hit Paul Butler, Alex Rae returned in place of the rested Paul Ince,
Irwin replaced Luzhny and Mark Kennedy replaced the injured Henri Camara.
It was hard to
tell which side were the ones from the Barclaycard Premiership. The
result, 1-1, totally flatters Wolves and Kidderminster Harriers deserved
the win, but as they say, Football is a funny old game.
The first half
was of dire quality. However, in fairness to Kiddy, they were the team
which played the only football in the first half but neither side tested
either Keeper.
With the first
half out the way it was time for the real cup-tie to come into play for
the final 45 minutes. Tackles started flying in, but both sides lacked
real quality in front of the goal.
With 15 minutes
to go, Kidderminster Harriers took a deserved lead. A Matt Gadsby
knock-down found the right boot of Williams and hit a low drive past
Goalkeeper Michael Oakes.
Harriers again
came close, but Wolves Premiership quality briefly shone through as Wolves
scored a undeserved leveler.
Good Work from
Cameron found captain for the day, Alex Rae who again showed coolness to
drive a rising shot in the roof of the net guarded by Harriers Keeper
Brock.
Wolves then
nearly scored a winner, but Substitute Ganea, making his Wolves debut saw
his shot blocked.
