Reports Today
suggest that Former Southampton Assistant Manager, Stuart Gray, will be
shortly named as Assistant to Dave Jones.
Dave Jones sacked John
Ward as Assistant Manager shortly after the Play-Off Final in May but is
yet to replace him.
It was made clear
that Jones wanted to replace Ward with Ex-Manchester United coach Brian
Kidd, but the deal involving Kidd failed to materialize.
Instead, it is
now believed Dave Jones is set to appoint former Southampton Assistant
Stuart Gray.
Gray was briefly
appointed Manager of Southampton after the departure of Glenn Hoddle but
then left as Gordan Strachan took over the main seat at Southampton.
Gray worked his way
through the "Coaching ladder" on the South Coast, Starting off
at the depths of Schoolboy coach, to trainee coach and was then promoted
to Assistant Manager by Dave Jones, Southampton`s Manager at the time.
In November of 2001,
Aston Villa Manager John Gregory appointed Gray as first team coach,
describing Gray as "a very good coach".
Gray is now
poised to renew his friendship with Wolves Manager Dave Jones as assistant
manager at Molineux.
