Charlton Manager Alan
Curbishley was full of praise for Wolves after his side took all three
points at the Valley on Saturday.
Everybody knows how easy it is to
praise a team once you have the three points in the bag, but all the
same, it was nice of the Charlton boss to praise the way in which Wolves
took the game to Charlton in the second half at Charlton.
"They gave us as good a
game as any team that has been here this season," The Charlton boss
said.
"It was certainly a game of
two halves. We did well in the first and they were the better team in
the second, but it's been a great holiday period for us and we are all
delighted.
"We looked tired in the
second half and need a bit of a rest now. Obviously we want to keep in
the top six but we know that two of the bigger clubs, Liverpool and
Newcastle, are chasing us hard."
Meanwhile Wolves boss Dave Jones
was angry at the decision for the first Euell goal. TV replays show that
Euell may have been offside before he scored.
"We felt the lad was
off," Jones said. "The linesman had missed one just before
that and the flag seemed to be too heavy for him.
"He told me after that Denis
Irwin was playing him on but I had a good view and I was sure he wasn't.
"If the linesman says
anything else then that's some call and it changed the game because it
was pretty even up to then.
"It can be a cruel game and
that is not the first time it has happened to us."
