McLeish Admits To Being Interested In Rae

Rangers Manager Alex McLeish has admitted that he is interested in signing Wolves Midfielder Alex Rae who has been in inspirational form for Wolves this season.

Recent speculation surrounding Alex Rae and a proposed move to Rangers died down last week as Rangers admitted they have an age restriction with regards to signing new players.

 However Rangers Manager Alex McLeish claims that the age of a player does not matter and points out that Henrik Larsson and Frank de Boer are still superb Footballers despite age not being on their side.

 "Look at Stuart McCall. He's defying science at the age of 39. Craig Brewster is 37 and Henrik Larsson is only eight months younger than Frank de Boer and you're not going to tell me nobody wants to sign him this summer." Said McLeish

 Rae is a lifelong Rangers Fan and has recently been quoted as being "flattered" that Rangers may be interest in him, but McLeish says that Rangers are keeping a strong eye on the Midfielder.

 "He's a name that interests us. Again, it's not exactly the kind of youth policy we want to adopt but what is it they say about young players? If they are good enough they are old enough. Rae's form in the Premiership has made people take notice, including us, but I can't say at this stage if a deal will be done." He said.
