THE WOLVES DREAM TEAM: As you
know, wolvesfc.co.uk are trying to put together the greatest ever Wolves
team. Your suggestions for nominations have been flying in. Here is a
selection of: Defenders
If you don't know: wolvesfc.co.uk
are putting together "The Wolves Dream Team". The team, made
up of eleven players and a manager can be from players past or present.
The team will play 4-4-2 (four
defenders, four midfielders and two attackers) and you will vote on a
player for each position.
We are currently asking you to
nominate players for each position by e-mail and shortly, you will get
to vote on each position from a choice of players from your list of
nominations.
Here a just a few of the Defenders
you have sent us:
Derek Parkin:
Derek Parkin helped Wolves to
win the League Cup twice and the Second Division Championship in
1977.Parkin made over 600 appearances for Wolves before joining Stoke in
March 1982.
Frank Munro
The Dundee born defender made
almost 300 League Appearances for Wolves before moving to Celtic in
December 1977. Munro took part in the 1972 UEFA Cup Final and won the
League Cup with Wolves in 1974.
Billy Wright CBE
William Ambrose Wright - One of
the all time Wolves greats. His statue stand proudly outside his own
Billy Wright stand at Molineux. Wright made an amazing 105 Caps for
England, was captain 70 times and lifted the FA Cup and First Division
title as Wolves captain. He made 650 first team appearances for the gold
and black.
More defenders will follow, but
the above three just show how difficult picking our Dream Team will be.
