ANOTHER AWAY Game - Will we
ever win one? Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to Liverpool in yet another
crucial Premiership Away Game on Saturday and after last week, 3 points
is a must.
It's no secret that Wolves are yet
to win away this season. Infact, Wolves are incredibly poor on the road.
Just seven goals have been scored away from Molineux and the 'against'
column for our away games does not even warrant a mention.
When writing a match preview, it's
always nice to bring a bit of optimism to the world. However, after the
pathetic display last Sunday against Aston Villa (We lost 4-0) it is
near impossible to bring any optimism into a match Wolves look certain
to lose.
That is what makes us Wolves fans
so special. Despite being incredibly poor away from home, the Liverpool
game was sold out in less than four hours and, to highlight our support,
a staggering 17,402 fans have already paid and renewed next seasons
season tickets.
All us loyal fans have is hope.
Hope that Wolves will win away and hope that it will be this weekend.
Vio Ganea looks set to keep his
place in attack, despite missing a penalty in the crushing defeat to
Aston Villa last week. Along with Ganea, Alex Rae, Paul Butler, Jody
Craddock and Denis Irwin are the only players who deserve to play at
Anfield on saturday.
Colin Cameron picked up a knock in
the reserves in the week, but could start. Likewise could Shaun Newton,
Kenny Miller and Steffen Iversen. Michael Oakes should also replace Paul
Jones in goal after the welsh keeper's nightmare last sunday - but
despite his "play for the shirt" quotes, expect the team the
Manager chooses to include Paul Jones, Mark Kennedy and several other
players who were so under par at the weekend.
A full report will follow after
the game.
