Medical Result Puts Edwards Deal On Hold

WOLVES' proposed signing of Aston Villa defender Rob Edwards is now in doubt after the player was found to have an ankle injury as he underwent his medical.

Wolves have a very strict policy regarding players medicals and Rob Edwards' medical highlighted a problem with the defenders ankle.

"The medical has shown up a slight problem that the boy's suffered with and it's only right that we get it properly checked out," said Wolves boss Dave Jones.

"We've sent him off to have a proper investigation with one of the country's top specialists and then, hopefully, he will be given the all clear so we can complete the signing."

The medical for Carl Cort lasted four days whilst new signing Seyi Olofinjana went through strict examinations on Monday.
