WOLVES Manager Dave Jones is not expecting
a repeat of two seasons ago, when Wolves smashed ten goals past Gillingham in
two games, without reply.
Gills
Vs Wolves - Big Match Preview
Wolves beat Gillingham 4-0
away from home in the first of the two encounters, then smashed the Gills 6-0 at
a packed Molineux on a Sunny day in March.
Wolves scored 5 in a
goal-packed first half that day, but Jones expects nothing similar this season.
"I doubt if those games will have any impact on Saturday's match,"
Said Jones.
"The most impact I can imagine is Andy (Hessenthaler) wanting revenge. But, you go from season to season, game to game, and something like that doesn't really play a part.
"Obviously we'd all like another game like that but they don't come along too often."
Wolves have a pretty good
record against Gillingham, but Jones insists that Saturdays game won't be an
easy one.
"They are always tough games at Gillingham and they've not had the best results of late so it could be a potential banana skin for us.
"You watch teams and think that now is a good time to play them but then they come up against us and they're like men possessed. We are one of the clubs in this division that everyone wants to beat so we just have to be at our best, week in week out - that's what we always try to do."
