REPORTS today suggest that a tough away
game at Sheffield United will be the first game for the yet to be appointed
Wolves Manager.
Wolves completed the last of the six
interviews for the short-listed managers today and it now looks certain that
Sheffield United will be his first game in charge.
It's now sixteen days since Jones was
sacked and there has been no hint of who the new manager will be.
The bookies favourite has changed several
times, with Megson, Strachan, Adams, Baxter and Houllier all being the favourite
at some stage over the past few weeks.
Wolves Chairman Rick Hayward had suggested
to Sky Sports News that Gary Megson was unlikely to get the job due to the
recent reaction of the fans, but Hayward has today changed his mind, insisting
that the fans views will have no bearing on the boards decision.
Jez Moxey recently hinted that the new
manager could already be in a job, with Portuguese manager Carlos Cavalhal being
the already-employed favourite.
The new manager is expected to be named
either late this week or early next.
