QPR boss Ian Holloway was furious with the
speculation linking him with a job at Wolves.
Ian Holloway was made a massive favourite
by the bookies on Friday night.
Speculation linking him with the Wolves job
had already been rife, but when Holloway was absent from training on Friday, the
bookies made the QPR man odds-on favourite.
A QPR spokesman quashed the speculation on
Friday afternoon, but Holloway was still absent and still failed to make a
statement of his own.
Following yesterdays game with Leeds,
Holloway said "It seems that I'm not allowed to be ill, especially on a press day when all the cameras are out to pick up on me not being there.
"The good news is that I've lost a bit of weight. The bad news is if I carry on like this I could end up in hospital.
"I felt so bad this morning that I shouldn't have come here today but I felt I had to so I could put this speculation to bed."
It must have been too simple for Holloway
to make a brief statement declaring his intentions to stay at QPR on the clubs
website.
To make the poor chap feel even worse, his
QPR side lost 6-1 to Leeds United, who even had the cheek to miss a penalty.
