WOLVESFC.CO.UK would like to issue a statement regarding a recent Newspaper report based on an article written on this website in connection with the Play-Off Semi Final with Reading in 2003.

"Scott Cooper, editor of wolvesfc.co.uk, would like to apologise to STAR and to any supporters of Reading Football Club who may have taken offence to an article written on this website on the 28th November 2004.

The article - which included ticket news for Wolves' Fans - was written on the basis to inform a section of Wolves' Supporters that they'd be moved to another part of the ground to accommodate Reading Supporters in the flank of the Jack Harris stand at Molineux.

As visiting Supporters rarely take the flank of the Jack Harris stand we believed it necessary to inform Wolves' supporters of such information on this occasion.

However we strongly disagree with a comment made in the Newspaper article which suggested we believed "the events of 16 months ago didn't happen or were fabricated as a result of bitterness."

The term "Bitter" was used due to a number of abusive posts written on our Message Board following the Second leg of the Play-Off Semi Finals in Reading. Posts from users who claimed to be Reading Fans refused to wish Wolves luck in the Play-Off Final and went out of their way, in our opinion, to antagonise our users.

We would therefore like to make it clear that the term suggesting Reading fans were bitter was not directed at fans who happened to be on the end of several unsavory incidents, but to users who posted on our message board following the game in 2003.

wolvesfc.co.uk is against racism and violence and we have taken steps in the past with the Spurs Supporters Trust to make visiting Molineux as an away fan a pleasurable experience.

We'd like to wish all Reading fans the very best of luck for the season and wish them a safe and pleasant visit to Molineux Stadium for the Championship game on the 4th December"
