Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle is set to leave the country early this next week to start talks with Petrous' current club Rubin Kazan.

The defender has been at Molineux this week on a trial and has impressed Hoddle, but the fee Rubin Kazan are asking is far too high for what Wolves are willing to pay.

''We should fly there on Monday or Tuesday for talks,'' Glenn Hoddle told Sky Sports News.

''Adam would first come on loan until the end of the season because the financial requirements of Kazan are unacceptable.''

The possible signing of Petrous fused rumours regarding a possible £2M bid from Middlesbrough for Wolves defender Joleon Lescott. Petrous would be seen as an ideal replacement should the deal go ahead.
