WOLVES and Romanian International Striker Vio Ganea is on the mend after more than seven months out injured. The fans favourite is hoping to feature next month.

WOLVES and Romanian International Striker Vio Ganea is on the mend after more than seven months out injured. The fans favourite is hoping to feature next month.

The Wolves striker signed a new two-year deal in the summer after turning down the chance to move to a host of Premiership Clubs. However the Romanian International picked up knee ligament damage on Wolves pre-season tour of Norway - an injury which was expected to rule him out for the season.

 However "Vio" as he is known by the fans has made a great recovery and is looking forward to pulling on the gold jersey.

"It has been a really long time - I've never been injured for this long before - but I'm happy to be getting closer," said Ganea.

"It has been difficult and I did get upset for a time but that does you no good, you have to stay positive. I think maybe next month I will be able to play in a match again but with this sort of injury you can't come back too soon."

The Wolves forward is looking forward to playing under new boss Glenn Hoddle in a Wolves side he believes can still make the play-offs. "I think we still have a chance to get up to the Premier League." He told the Birmingham Post..

"It wasn't a good start to the season because a lot of players were out injured which was a big problem."
