The Romanian International, famed for winning and scoring the penalty which knocked England out of Euro 2000 returned to Football last night after missing the whole campaign through injury.

The fans favourite ruptured his cruciate knee ligament during a pre-season game in Norway against Lyn Oslo and was previously only expected to be out for six months. However with complications he was put behind schedule by 3 months, meaning an agonising 9 month sit on the sidelines.

Ganea played a full 45 minutes during the 3-0 reserve defeat at Old Trafford on Monday Night and is yet to report any discomfort. A return to first team action this summer is a little optimistic, but the Romanin will be ready to go again for next years promotion challenge.
