Wolves net £115,000 from Newton deal.

WOLVERHAMPTON Wanderers have netted £115,000 by West Ham United winning the Championship Play-Off final in Cardiff.

A clause in the contract agreement between Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United for winger Shaun Newton stated that Wolves would receive £115,000 should West Ham be promoted at the end of the season.

A Bobby Zamora goal at Cardiff ensured that the Hammers would be playing Premiership Football next season and helped top-up the Molineux coppers.

Newton has made 13 appearances for West Ham and started the Championship Play-Off final at Cardiff today.
