Wolves turn down £1M Miller bid.

WOLVERHAMPTON Wanderers have today rejected a bid from Sunderland for Kenny Miller. The £1M bid was instantly rejected by Chief Executive Jez Moxey.

Kenny Miller has now been on the transfer list for two seasons and Wolves today rejected a bid of £1M for the Scotland International.

Miller was placed on the transfer list at his own request during the Premiership season after being angered by boss of the time Dave Jones. Miller was unhappy at being played out of position and bagged just two Premiership goals. Ironically both goals came in the same week as the Scot hit the target in the 1-0 win over Manchester United and scored a last minute equaliser against Liverpool at Molineux just four days later.

"We have been very pleased with Kenny's efforts over the past season, he worked hard and scored 20 goals," Chief Executive Jez Moxey told the clubs official website.

  "The cost of finding a 20-goal replacement would be far greater than what Sunderland has offered. Furthermore, in our opinion, the cost to any Premier League club trying to buy a striker of Kenny's age, experience, international status and goal scoring abilities would be greater than what is now on the table."

Miller bagged his 20th goal of the season in the 4-2 win over Sheffield United at the end of the season and it is likely that Sunderland will have to double their bid if they wish to sign Miller on a permanent basis.

Miller scored Wolves only goal in the 3-1 defeat at the Stadium of Light in November when Wolves were without a manager but his goals since the arrival of Glenn Hoddle were a big part in Wolves record 18 game unbeaten run at the end of the season.

Miller however still refuses to come off the transfer list but looks set to still be at Molineux when the 2005/06 season kicks off in August.
