Hoddle happy with four star performance

A 30 minute goal feast at Dundee's Dens Park ensured Wolves plans for the pre-season remained on target. Former Newcastle United man Carl Cort grabbed three of the four late goals.

Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle was pleased with his sides 4 star performance in the Discovery Cup 3rd place play-off at Dundee's Dens Park today.

The first half was disappointing from Wolves point of view as Hoddle's men failed to make their possession pay, but second half substitute Carl Cort ended that with a superb hat-trick. Welsh International Rob Edwards also got himself on the score sheet with a superb 25 yard effort.

"I thought in the first-half it was going to be the same story as yesterday. George [Ndah] hit the crossbar and we got into some great positions but we still went in at half-time at 0-0." Said Hoddle (speaking to the clubs official website)

"But I said to the players that we had to win the game otherwise it becomes a pattern of not finishing teams off like we did last year and that would be frustrating.

  "But, in the second half, Carl Cort came on and he took his opportunities very well."
